Split Pinal Board of Supervisors redraws justice court precincts

After a back-and-forth discussion and pressure to table the item for at least a couple of weeks, a split board approved a redistricted Pinal County Justice of the Peace precinct map for election purposes, which officials expect could potentially save at least $280,000.

But a group of Saddlebrooke and Oracle Junction residents thought the county Board of Supervisors “obviously” didn’t take their input into consideration before presenting the information at the public meeting Wednesday.

The 3-2 vote rescinds current boundaries, bringing the number of precincts from eight to six.
