Florence Reminder
Florence was named the fourth-safest city or town in Arizona in a survey by Movoto Real Estate.
Occupying the No. 1 spot was Sahuarita, followed by Oro Valley and Gilbert.
Coolidge was listed near the bottom at number 39. Casa Grande was 35 and Eloy was 30. The only other Pinal County city to make the top 10 was Maricopa, which was number 8.
Movoto —which bills itself as an online real estate brokerage based in San Mateo, Calif., and licensed in over 30 states — used the FBI crime report to create its rankings. In an article on the company website, Movoto said it mostly considered violent crime (50 percent of the ranking), followed by property crime (30 percent), then the chances of a resident being a crime victim (20 percent).
Florence was also touted as a very safe city in a similar report by a different group last year.
