Renewable energy training prepares Central Arizona College students for solar careers

In July 2009, Central Arizona College received more than $2 million in Community Based Job Training Grants through the U.S. Labor Department’s Employment and Training Administration for a renewable energy program. The college began offering classes on Aug. 1, 2010.
Through the program, students can choose to earn a biofuels technician and solar photovoltaic technician certificate or an Associate of Applied Science degree in renewable energy technology.
