This is the second of three articles in which candidates for Florence Town Council respond in writing to questions posed by the Florence Reminder. The primary election will be held Aug. 26.

 What is your opinion of Florence Copper?

John Anderson: I opposed the Florence Copper Project.  I worked for a water conservation district and researched Insitu mining and it is clear that the proposed process will pollute the aquifer.  The cost benefit of a few dozen jobs does not justify the risk of polluting the drinking water for 50,000 homes.  I also oppose foreign corporations profiting from our natural resources.
