Mixed reactions in Pinal County to President Obama’s executive orders on immigration
Pinal County area reactions to President Barack Obama’s executive orders on immigration was mixed Friday. But the one thing that everybody can agree on is something needs to be done.
For some, the hope is that the president’s actions will spur Congress to pass a comprehensive immigration bill.
“Now, more than ever, Congress must act,” Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., said in a press release Thursday night following the president’s announcement. “I ask my colleagues who are protesting to instead raise their voices and demand a vote on the Senate’s bipartisan reform bill, which strengthens border security, keeps families together and addresses our labor and economic needs.”
