An administrative law judge and the Arizona Water Quality Appeals Board recently validated the significant concerns of the mayor, town council, residents and landowners of Florence by rejecting a permit granted to foreign-owned Florence Copper Inc. by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. The judge and the board effectively determined the temporary permit issued to Florence Copper was unlawfully, arbitrarily and unreasonably issued.
