Apache Junction, Arizona – The spring of 2005 was an exciting time; construction of the first LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified city hall in Arizona was completed and it happened right here in Apache Junction. Construction of Apache Junction’s city hall began in 2004, and the design complimented the natural environment. Owned by the city of Apache Junction, and completely paid off, the building is home to various departments and divisions.

Department directors, current and previous councilmembers, and key personnel were invited to be in the 10 year celebratory picture. Mayor John Insalaco commented “there were many people who made this vision a reality. We appreciate all of their efforts and want to highlight those that were unable to join us; former Vice Mayor Rick Dietz, former Vice Mayor Ann Surra, former Mayor and current State Representative Doug Coleman, former Councilmember Brian Milkey and former Councilmember Carol Urich.”

CORE Construction, CookDZ and Dick & Fritsche Design Group were essential partners in the project. City Manager George Hoffman, former Councilmember Kris Sipple, former City Magistrate David Alexander, former Public Works Director Doug Dobson, former Library Director Pam Loui, former Finance Director Keith Lewis, City Attorney Joel Stern and Parks & Recreation Director Jeff Bell were also involved but unable to attend.
