Pinal County Supervisor Smith’s meeting well attended; good news/bad news updates

Pinal County Supervisor Anthony Smith was in Arizona City last week for his monthly “Sessions with the Supervisor” visit with local residents at the AC Fire Station. There was a respectable turnout of about 25 local residents at the meeting.
Supervisor Smith asked residents at the meeting how the silt and mud control project was going on their particular street following the recent rain in the area. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with several residents giving specific examples of the major difference the pilot program has already made. One resident asked the Supervisor if he could look into getting additional silt screens and wattles installed around vacant lots in the area of Tipton Place and Monaco Boulevard.
Many residents brought up the subject of commercial trucks being parked on private property as well as the wear and tear they cause to Arizona City streets. With regards to commercial trucks, Pinal zoning regulations allow the large vehicles to be parked on a resident’s private property. However, when they are parked on vacant lots, it becomes a Code Compliance Division issue.
