Maricopa City Council: Property tax rate to drop

property taxDespite a small rainy day fund and a considerable amount of debt tied to large capital improvement projects, the City of Maricopa is weathering the storm financially.

The City Council met with City staff for a budget retreat at City Hall, and it turns out there are some positives the City can highlight about its upcoming Fiscal Year 2016 budget.

Yes, the City has just $500,000 set aside in its contingency fund, and it will be paying off its debt related to the Copper Sky Recreation Center for years to come.

However, residents will be happy to hear their property tax bill will be smaller next year.
