Jobless rate dips in Pinal, April to May
By Howard Fischer | Casa Grande Dispatch
Arizona’s jobless rate dropped again last month in signs the state’s economy is improving — or at least parts of it.
The seasonally adjusted rate slid another two-tenths of a point, to 5.8 percent. That is based on a survey of households, asking people if they’re working and, if not, they are looking for employment.
It now approaches the federal rate of 5.5 percent, a rate that actually increased slightly between April and May.
The May Pinal County rate was 5.6 percent, down from 5.9 percent in April.
