Florence tax rate holding steady

FlorenceThe town’s property tax rate is staying the same for the new fiscal year, but Florence property owners may pay a smidge more — perhaps $2 on a $100,000 home, depending on changes in assessed value.

The Town Council heard the first reading of an ordinance to levy the town property tax in the new fiscal year at its July 6 regular meeting.

The new budget keeps the town’s tax rate at $1.1182 per $100 of net assessed value, which should collect $893,721 for the town in the new fiscal year which began July 1, Town Manager Charles Montoya told the council.
