Arizona City residents want more care for unsightly vacant lots

Residents concerned about unsightly and unkept vacant lots want to take matters into their own hands, but county officials advise against it.
About 30 residents turned out to a recent meeting with Pinal County Supervisor Anthony Smith to complain about everything from trash, recycling, silt, non-maintained empty lots, overgrown trees and shrubs and poor landscaping in unincorporated Arizona City.
Many residents are concerned about silt from empty lots sliding onto their property and onto public streets. They’re upset because the owners won’t take care of the lots, if they even live in the state, and if neighbors simply go and clean them up themselves, they could technically be considered trespassing.
