Casa Grande plans meetings, outreach on rec center

Casa GrandeThe absence of a table informing the community about a proposed recreation center was noticeable Friday during the kickoff of the annual Casa Grande Downtown Street Scene events.

Public input on the center also was the subject of discussion by the City Council Monday night.

At issue is the three public meetings that are supposed to take place with representatives from Haydon Building Corporation, an architectural firm hired by the city in July to provide a schematic design of the proposed recreation center. Council members stipulated that three community meetings take place to seek public input. City staff took that to mean some sort of community outreach.
