Realtor: More home listings than sales expected this month in Maricopa

Due to the dropping value of the Canadian dollar – and corresponding increase in their American dollar – local real estate agents expect to see more Canadian snowbirds selling their winter homes.

“This is the time of year when homes are less in demand,” HomeSmart Success owner Dayv Morgan said. “I think we’ll see more listings than sales this month. I think this is a year when we will see a lot of Canadians sell. I expect many to cash out while the exchange is in their favor.”

According to Morgan, there is plenty of incentive for Canadians to sell their part-time homes in Maricopa. They stand to make more money than if they wait. On the other hand, Morgan expects non-Canadian part-time homeowners to hold on to their properties while the market turns in their favor.
