Multifamily housing planned next to mortuary in Casa Grande

J. Warren Funeral Services found itself in an interesting situation this year when a nearby landowner wanted to rezone some parcels near Florence Boulevard and Peart Road for the future development of multifamily neighborhoods.
It was the funeral home that raised concern over how such development would adversely affect its property. Due to outdoor services offered to bereaved families, the business worried about potential noise pollution spilling over from a block of new townhouses or condominiums.
Infringing on a client’s privacy was another concern for the funeral home if the proposed housing development consisted of multilevel buildings, which could peer straight into the home’s outdoor patios.
