Business owners in Eloy will soon see several changes to licensing fees in the new year.
Some businesses will have cheaper annual licensing fees, but many, namely medical marijuana dispensaries, can expect a marked increase in annual business license fees, including a couple additional costs. Currently, there is only one medical marijuana facility in Eloy, Jamestown Center at 3755 W. Houser Rd.
City Council members unanimously approved the changes at the Nov. 23 regular council meeting.
A license for a general fixed business, one that maintains a physical location in the city limits, will remain at $75. However, a license for a general fixed business, one that does not maintain a physical location in the city limits, is decreasing from $150 to $75.
