House new chairman of Pinal board, controversy over former assistant follows

When the Pinal County Board of Supervisors held its last meeting of 2015 on Dec. 16, Supervisor Todd House, R-Apache Junction, was appointed the board’s chairman for 2016.

The new chairman was embroiled in controversy last fall over the sudden and dramatic resignation of his former assistant, Lora Highstreet.

House, first elected to the board in November 2012, was accused by Highstreet of ordering her to do personal tasks on county time — and essentially being an on-call personal assistant to him 24/7.
