Apache Junction City Council passes tentative $43 million budget

The Apache Junction City Council has given approval to the tentative $43 million city budget for fiscal year 2016-17.
The city council held a public hearing on the budget on May 16, unanimously voting to approve the document, which can be seen at www.ajcity.net/budget. The council will next hold a public hearing before voting on formal adoption of the final budget at its June 20 meeting, at 7 p.m., in the council chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.
The proposed budget, for $43,020,130, is larger than last year ($42,481,155) and includes additional funding for:
