ADOT grant comes alive
The long-delayed “streetscape” plan to beautify North Main Street area appears to be here at last.
Ten years after the town received a “TEA-21” transportation enhancement grant, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has selected an apparent low bidder and is ironing out final details.
The project will remove all the existing public lighting for new streetlamps, take down the overhead power lines and add new street furniture, trash containers and bike racks. Trees, which were expected to be part of the plan in the early years, will not be included.
