Florence Town Council ok’s ‘Koko’ Hunter to increase teen activities

The Town Council approved a $48,000 contract with a Phoenix man to increase teen activities and leadership opportunities in Florence over the next year.

Kim “Koko” Hunter has developed similar programs in Phoenix, Maricopa and at Boys and Girls Clubs. He is the dean of discipline at South Pointe High School in Phoenix and owns a company, Koko Entertainment, LLC. He first came to Florence in April and has been back several times since then to begin meeting and working with local youth.

Also part of his contract, Hunter will receive a 1995 Ford van which the town had scheduled for disposal. The town had previously budgeted $50,000 for teen programs this year.
