A Pinal County Superior Court judge has ruled on a challenge to the city of Apache Junction mayoral slate for the Aug. 30 election by candidate Elliott Fisher. Judge Daniel A. Washburn on July 1 in an expedited hearing on a special action election matter, granted the motion to dismiss, which had been filed by the city of Apache Junction; dismissed the plaintiff’s complaint; and ordered the plaintiff to remove his political signage within 15 days unless he decides to become a write-in candidate, according to a filed minute entry action.

The decision by the judge means two people will be on the ballot – Mayor John Insalaco and Councilman Jeff Serdy.
