Walter receives key endorsements in mayor’s race
Florence mayoral candidate Tara Walter has picked up endorsements from the Arizona Police Association and the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona.
“Our first responders risk their lives every day to protect us and our communities,” Walter said in a prepared statement. “It is truly an honor to have the trust and support of our first responders who risk so much to serve us.”
She continued, “The town of Florence has been named one of the safest towns in the United States because of the hard work of our police officers. The town also has the only specially trained ladder company south of Apache Junction. As I talk to prominent members of other communities, I realize how special both of these honors are. I believe that I have been a driving force in achieving these quality services for our citizens.”
Walter, who is Florence’s vice mayor, is completing her first term on the Town Council as she runs for mayor against incumbent Tom Rankin and downtown property owner Gem Cox.
