Forum for candidates tackles business
Florence’s three mayoral candidates were asked how they’d help the town “become more business-friendly” Tuesday in the first of two candidate forums sponsored by APS and the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce.
“That’s a great question, because I believe we need to find out what businesses are going to be sustainable within our town,” Tara Walter told the crowd of about 180 people at Sun City Anthem Union Center. Walter, currently the town’s vice mayor, said the town is in the process of developing a strategic plan, including finding out what residents want. Walter said town government needs better communication and transparency so residents can help businesses succeed.
