Argument against legal pot taken to area GOP

prop 205Opponents of legal marijuana are taking their pitch to Arizona Republicans, asking them to organize against and oppose the ballot initiative this November.

The Western Pinal County Chapter of the Arizona Republican Assembly hosted a meeting Monday evening featuring a speaker from Arizonans for Responsible Drug Policy, making a case to vote “no” on Proposition 205.

Prop. 205, on the state ballot in November, would legalize possessing, growing and smoking recreational marijuana for those 21 and older. Each individual would be permitted to possess and consume up to 1 ounce of marijuana and grow up to six plants in the home.
