While some districts are panicking over their walls literally caving in due to infrastructure crises, Toltec School District wants everyone to know that there is no such fear with their buildings, allowing them to focus on improving aspects within the classroom instead.
Bryan McCleney, the former district superintendent who now in retirement serves as a mentor and advisor on a part-time basis, talked with members of the Arizona City Chamber of Commerce during its monthly luncheon on Sept. 20 about some of the challenges facing Toltec, as well as the moves they are making to improve education.
“Right now, we’re OK, building-wise.” McCleney said off the bat, noting the struggles of other districts, some of which have had to temporarily close down schools in order to repair critical infrastructure problems. This means that the residents of Arizona City will not be asked to raise their property taxes in order to raise money for expensive fixes.
