Final Pinal County ballot counts match previous trends reported
The Pinal County Elections Department has completed tabulating ballots cast in Tuesday’s primary election with the numbers matching trends reported earlier.
A total of 47,931 ballots had been processed with one remaining conditional provisional ballot left uncounted as of Friday afternoon. Conditional provisional ballots are placed on hold when voters fail to present identification on election day, and they are given three business days to come back with an ID to have their ballot counted.
Local candidates who were leading Tuesday night maintained those leads. Casa Grande attorney Kent Volkmer defeated Republican County Attorney Lando Voyles by a margin of 16,008 to 11,362. No Democrat filed, so Volkmer will be the county attorney in January.
