Victorious Smith talks public works issues
Pinal County District 4 Supervisor Anthony Smith talked last week with residents about the benefits of working together to provide mutual support for common goals.
Arizona City did their part in fulfilling the bargain, overwhelmingly supporting the Republican incumbent during the Aug. 30 primary, with both precincts choosing Smith over challenger Rich Vitiello 379-161. The 70 percent of the vote well outpaced the rest of the county, which supported him with 53 percent of the vote.
Smith, who will not face a Democratic opponent in the Nov. 8 general election, thus will serve another four-year term on the Board of Supervisors. And while his 489-vote victory was not entirely Arizona City’s doing, he was very thankful when he made the rounds last week.
