Liberia’s vice president visits Casa Grande

Liberia’s vice president was in Casa Grande on Wednesday to learn more about educational and manufacturing practices employed throughout the region.

Joseph N. Boakai, who has served as vice president of the small African nation since 2006, met with local leaders as part of a four-day tour through Arizona.

The purpose of the visit was to solidify governmental and academic ties between Arizona and Liberia, as the African nation works to recover from a recent Ebola outbreak and 14-year civil war.
