After eight years with no raises, the mayor and council members will see an increase in their paychecks starting Jan. 1.
The Maricopa City Council unanimously approved these pay increases for the mayoral and city council member positions at the regular Council meeting Nov. 21.
Six of the seven voting Council members were either re-elected to their seats this past November or were not up for re-election. Outgoing Council member Bridger Kimball is the only elected official in the city that will not be affected by this merit increase. (Newly elected Council member Julia Gusse will be sworn in today and takes over in January.)
