Skydiving dispute at Casa Grande airport to be resolved by FAA

The Federal Aviation Administration is expected to decide soon whether a skydiving company can conduct on-site jumps at Casa Grande Municipal Airport.

It could mark the end of a lengthy dispute between Phoenix Area Skydiving and the municipal airport. The company filed a complaint earlier this year with the FAA after the city wouldn’t allow on-site skydiving jumps at the airport.

Phoenix Area Skydiving owner Luther Kurtz has been pushing for an on-site drop zone the last couple of years. His company currently drops jumpers off-site, about 3 miles north of the airport.
