Data released by the Arizona Department of Public Safety shows more drivers are being cited in the designated “safety corridor” along Interstate 10.

State troopers have focused more attention on the section of I-10 that runs from Chandler to Casa Grande after the agency declared in December it would have “zero tolerance” for hazardous driving behavior in this area.

Signs were erected along I-10, notifying drivers they were entering and exiting the new safety corridor.

According to numbers released this week, DPS has issued more driving citations along the corridor compared to the previous year.
