County maps show large portions of Arizona City in flood plain

Some Arizona City residents may be shocked to find that according to Pinal County they live in a floodplain.
Internal Pinal County flood maps do not match up with the Federal Emergency Management Agency maps indicating that more of the property in and around the unincorporated community is in a floodplain.
The FEMA map only lists a small area in the northeast corner of Arizona City as a floodplain, while most of the town north of Alsdorf Road is considered to be a floodplain by the county’s administrative flood plan. Both areas listed as floodplains are subjected to different regulations.
