State lawmakers and a U.S. congressman say they’re apprehensive about building a new freeway that could cut through a section of their district in central Arizona.
The Arizona Department of Transportation has spent years planning a transportation corridor, known as Interstate 11, that would connect Mexico to Las Vegas.
Planners are still studying how and where this proposed freeway might take shape, including the option to not build anything at all. ADOT has narrowed its scope to a 280-mile-long corridor stretching between Wickenburg and Nogales.
