Florence manager wants IP business park to incorporate prisons

As a new Innovation Pavilion takes shape in Florence, Town Manager Brent Billingsley has asked those in charge to not overlook the prisons.

There will soon be an IP employee working in Florence. Later in the new year there should be an “innovation assessment” of the project’s potential in the Florence area, Billingsley said in an interview.

The Innovation Pavilion business park, tentatively planned north of the existing Florence Library and Community Center, is an “entrepreneurial ecosystem” designed to grow businesses, attract talented young employees and develop municipal and corporate projects. Florence will have only the fifth IP in the United States.
