Company tells how proposed Florence biogas plant would work

A new biogas plant next to the town’s south wastewater treatment plant will not add to the area’s odor or noise, according to a statement from the company planning to build the plant.
Biogas is used to generate electrical power from treated sewage, food and farm waste.
“This project will bring together many constituents who are already contributing to the town’s economic development,” said Vinh Chung, CEO of Alkeme, in a news release.
