Community partners asked to cast vision for Casa Grande school district

About 50 community members turned out Tuesday to help cast the vision and brand for the elementary school district as it strives to compete in a changing world.
Casa Grande Elementary School District Superintendent JoEtta Gonzales said the district needs to re-evaluate its mission, vision and brand in order to not only better serve students but also to attract and retain qualified teachers.
Gonzales, who joked she could only be considered the “new superintendent” for about two more months, has big plans for shaking up the elementary district, which has seen declining enrollment over the past few years. Gonzales is looking to increase enrollment by capturing back students who go to charter and private schools and who are homeschooled, she told the group.
