Pinal farmers keeping eye on possible trade war with China

As China threatens to impose tariffs on American goods, agricultural producers in Pinal Country remain optimistic about the effects of a potential trade war.

An area rich in agriculture, Pinal County produces a variety of exports like cotton, nuts and wheat — items all falling under the threat of new tariffs from China.

The country’s Ministry of Commerce announced this week it would be imposing tariffs on those types of American-made exports after the White House declared earlier it was imposing its own tariffs on Chinese products.
