Pollster: Majority in Pinal would approve bond to protect open spaces

A slight majority of Pinal County voters appears inclined to support a $50 million bond issue to protect open spaces, a professional pollster told the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday.

Dave Metz from FM3 Research said the firm polled 300 likely Pinal County voters from March 24-27.

The poll question asked voters if they support the idea of taking out a bond to protect rivers, wildlife habitats, buffers around National Guard bases and other open space and trails. The issue includes preventing urban encroachment that could pose as a threat to resources.
