San Tan Valley area plan could be adopted by year’s end

A presentation at the Pinal County Board of Supervisors meeting Wednesday detailed the development options for the future of San Tan Valley.
A new “small area plan” for smarter development of San Tan Valley should be ready for a 60-day public review, public hearings and adoption toward the end of the year.
The Pinal County Board of Supervisors heard an update on the plan Wednesday. It seeks to strengthen community and broaden economic opportunity while improving transportation and healthy living, according to Matthew Klyszeiko with the county’s consultant Michael Baker International.
Supervisor Anthony Smith noted San Tan Valley residents may be confused later this year as they hear details of the plan and public hearings while also possibly hearing election publicity related to a vote on forming a city.
