Florence council to lower property tax rate, but revenue expected to increase

The town’s property tax rate is going down this year, even as the property tax provides more revenue for Florence.
Town staff asked for the Town Council’s thoughts on various options for the property tax, but the council took no official action on the tax rate Monday.
The property tax only generates about 7 percent of the town’s general fund revenue. Currently, the tax rate of $1.1345 per $100 of assessed value results in a levy of $1,017,439 for the town.
