Phoenix-Mesa Gateway posts best May, Allegiant increases capacity

Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, the Valley’s secondary airport, saw the busiest May in its history and its passenger activity has grown for the past eight straight months.

A total of 117,290 people traveled through Gateway in May. That’s an increase of 13 percent compared with the same month in 2017.

“Even as temperatures in the Valley rise as we enter into the summer months, Gateway Airport continues to post record-setting passenger activity numbers,” said Jenn Daniels, Gilbert mayor and chairwoman of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority, in a statement.
