CGUHSD board president won’t run for another term

The president of the high school governing board announced Tuesday he won’t seek re-election.

At the end of the regular Casa Grande Union High School District Governing Board meeting, president Wes Mitchell read a prepared statement saying, after much deliberation, he won’t seek a third term.

Mitchell and fellow board member Tony Salcido’s terms both conclude this year. Salcido told PinalCentral on Tuesday he hadn’t decided whether to seek another term. Candidates for school board have until Aug. 8 to collect signatures.
