Trails and other recreational amenities around “F” mountain, or Poston Butte, north of downtown Florence will be designed in a contract approved by the Town Council Monday.
The council approved a design services agreement with J2 Engineering and Environmental Design for $109,548. The fee is in line with town staff’s estimate for design services and J2 is prepared to begin immediately, according to a town staff report.
A 2015 master plan for a Poston Butte Preserve indicates two phases of development, one on the west side of the butte and the second on the northeast side. Both phases show parking, horse parking, restrooms, shade ramadas, connections to existing trails and new trails, according to J2’s bid for the design work.
