A decision appears to be near on whether Pinal County can move forward with a new half-cent tax to fund major road projects.
Closing briefs and oral arguments were given in Phoenix on the lawsuit against the Pinal Regional Transit Authority and the Arizona Department of Revenue by the Goldwater Institute.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Whitten must make a written decision within 60 days, but attorneys suspect it will be done much sooner, as they say is typical of Whitten.
