Archeologists give green light for traffic signal near Ruins

Construction of a new traffic light to be located near the entrance of the Casa Grande Ruins in Coolidge could be underway soon after archeologist completed an examination of the area.

Archeologists from Northland Research Inc. recently completed a look into the area to ensure that work done for the traffic light will not impact any archeological remains.

Senior Archeologist Doug Craig presented on the issue during the Coolidge Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Conservation in that area has been of concern since it started being developed, including the area in front of Walmart being preserved as a part of Casa Grande Ruins National Monument.
