CAC program inspires higher-ed dreams for kids

For 30 years, Central Arizona College’s College for Kids program has aimed to expose students to new passions and interests.

Every summer the two-week course introduces students ages 7 to 12 to stimulating STEM subjects with the hope of inspiring a new generation of scientists and thinkers, a press release from the school said.

Each year the program focuses on a different STEM theme, from botany to meteorology. This summer focused on anatomy. Instructors from around the state shared their unique perspectives as students moved between classes, beginning with the skeletal system, then moving through the muscular and digestive systems before studying individual organs.
