The story of Casa Grande is told in vivid images and bright colors in a newly painted mural near the entrance of the Main Library on Drylake Street.
Painted by artist Antonio Pasos, the mural, which was unveiled in a ceremony Tuesday morning, is a tribute to the history of Casa Grande. It features images of some of Casa Grande’s historical icons — Rebecca Dallis, a Native American chief, cotton farms, ranchers, a train and other scenes from the community’s early days.
“It’s an homage to the folks who sacrificed to make the community what it is,” Pasos said during the mural unveiling event, which attracted dozens of people.
