Pinal roadway deaths up in 2017

More than 1,000 people were killed on Arizona roadways in 2017, according to a new report released by transportation officials.
Pinal County reported 71 vehicle deaths in 2017. In 2016, Pinal reported 62 fatal accidents, according to the 2017 Arizona Motor Vehicle Crash Facts Report by the Arizona Department of Transportation and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
Almost 4,000 accidents were reported on Pinal County roadways. Of the 4,000 crashes, the most occurred in Casa Grande, 761, followed by 456 in Apache Junction. Maricopa recorded 298; Coolidge, 136; Eloy, 135; Florence, 100; Kearny and Superior both had two; and Mammoth didn’t report any crashes.
