Pinal Partnership September Breakfast: New economic tool brings new opportunity – Opportunity Zones

Love the current administration or not, it’s hard not to love new economic stimulus tools! New tax laws established the ability for states to form Opportunity Zones to drive investment in designated areas by providing tax advantages.

Pinal Partnership has assembled a panel of movers in the Opportunity Zones space who will give us the latest info, answer questions, and let us know how impactful this tool is to Pinal County and Arizona.

The Arizona Commerce Authority leads economic development in our great state and has been tremendously helpful to Pinal County. Shawn Neidorf from the ACA will talk about the 168 designated zones throughout the state and how this is helping attract new businesses to our communities.

Rose Law Group is representing a multitude of parties working in this space and attorney Dan Gauthier will come ready to explain the legal mechanics of how this tool can (and can’t) be utilized to help your business or land.

Esteemed businessman Michael Lafferty of Lafferty Companies is truly a fast mover in this space and has set up one of the very first Opportunity Funds, Defer Gain, LLC with an experienced set of partners. As co-founder and partner in Defer Gain, Michael will provide us with an insider’s view into this crazy new world of investment potential, with a focus on real estate.

Respected business operator Scott Tonn of Tonn Investments and co-founder and partner in Defer Gain, LLC Opportunity Fund, will discuss how OZ Funds will play an exciting private-equity type role in business-specific expansion and acquisition.

Joshua Hayes of Eide Bailly LLP has experience serving as the CPA for Opportunity Zone investors and Funds and will share his knowledge with us.
