Program aims to get Pinal kids ready to get into, and attend, college

Millions of dollars in scholarship money goes unclaimed every year around the United States.

The reason, according to Chris Lathan, founder of the nonprofit organization Nelson C. Lathan Counseling Center, is that many students simply don’t know what resources are available to them, or even see college as an option.

For that reason, he launched the Roads to Scholars program as part of the counseling center. The program is designed to help students implement their goals of attending college or launching a career path.
